Mental Health Practitioners

(CTSS and ARMHS)

Mental Health Practitioners provide culturally competent mental health services to children and adults with mental health conditions and their families.  The CTSS (Children’s Therapeutic Services and Supports) practitioner will provide individual skills training, group skills training, and/or family skills training. The ARMHS (Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services) provider will provide in-home and community-based mental health rehabilitative services to people who have been impaired by the symptoms of mental illness. An ARMHS provider will instruct, support and coach adults to enhance their stability, social competencies, personal and emotional adjustment, independent living and community skills.

You will primarily provide services in the client’s home or in the community.  The schedule is very flexible and you will be able to make your own schedule.  Our agency is based out of Hutchinson but we offer services in McLeod and Meeker Counties.

Qualifications: Must meet Mental Health Practitioner criteria, per MN statute. Position requires one of the following:

  • Practitioner is qualified through relevant coursework by completing at least 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in Behavioral Sciences or related fields and:

    1. Has at least 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to adults or children with:

    2. Mental illness, substance use disorder, TBI

    3. Has completed a practicum or internship that required direct interaction with adults or children served, and was focused on behavioral sciences or related fields; or

    4. Is working in a MHCP-enrolled adult or children’s day treatment program.

      -OR-

    5. At least 4,000 hours of experience in the delivery of services to adults or children with:

    6. Mental illness, substance use disorder, or TBI

    7. At least 2,000 hours of work experience and receives treatment supervision at least once per week until meeting the requirement of 4,000 hours in the delivery of services to adults or children with: Mental illness, or substance use disorder; or Traumatic brain injury or developmental disabilities

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide strength-based skills training to as documented in the individual’s treatment plan. Develop therapeutic relationships and support clients as they practice their skills.

  • Develop and implement a culturally appropriate treatment plan and crisis plan.

  • Complete timely documentation for each session as required by third-party payers as well as other documentation required by CTSS/ARMHS guidelines.

  • Participate in monthly case consultation with group and/or supervision.

  • Work closely and consult with families/guardians, county case managers, therapists, and other community service providers as appropriate.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, documentation of current vehicle insurance, and a clean driving record.

  • Must be able to maintain current case files per HIPAA standards.

Outpatient Mental Health Therapist

We are looking for a compassionate Mental Health Therapist to be responsible for counseling individuals, groups or families to diagnose and treat mental health disorders.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Must be able to work independently and have good communication skills.

· Must be able to pass a background check

· Must be able to maintain current case files per HIPPA standards

· Develop and implement a culturally appropriate treatment and crisis plans and Diagnostic Assessments

· Participate in monthly case consultation with group or supervision

· Work closely and consult with counties, and community service providers etc.

· Must have at least a master’s degree and be licensed or seeking licensure

· Must meet Mental Health Professional criteria, per MN statute
